I understand the concept of being bitter that a mediocre writer like Rowling managed to make a million jillion catrillion dollars with an unoriginal story, but let's face it. There's a reason Rowling's story made such a huge impact, while books like Ender's Game are less popular in the mainstream. Rowling has mastered the art of accessible fiction.

That aside, most of what he's claiming she "stole" is a basic plotline that's been around for freakin ages. IF you want to get picky, good ole Orson Scott Card "stole" the idea of the "special boy goes on an adventure" plotline from... Oh, that's right, EVERY FANTASY NOVEL EVER. Maybe she did some more specific "borrowing" of a made-up word here and there, but that doesn't give anyone the right to call the whole story stolen. It's not stolen, it's just lame. There's a difference.

Besides, can't Card be happy that Ender's Game will go down in history as actually having some meaning, rather than being widely accessible trash?
